BK Questionnaire pricing, features, and the alternatives

Updated October 21, 2026

Short answer

BK Questionnaire, from BK Assistant, Inc. of Costa Mesa, California, is a client-completed bankruptcy questionnaire with a web portal and phone apps, sold on three published plans at $39.99, $89.99 and $129.99, with a joint case at $159 on the top plan. It exports CSV and names Jubilee as a partner. It suits firms whose clients will finish an online form. Firms on Best Case whose clients return paper need a different tool.

BK Questionnaire is one of the three products that define bankruptcy client intake software, alongside MyCaseInfo from Stretto and BK Packet from Legal Motion. It is also the most feature-heavy of the three. This page sets out what it does, what it publishes as pricing, where its data goes, and when a different tool is the better fit. We publish Casewell, which is one of the alternatives listed, so read this as a vendor’s comparison and check every competitor fact against the linked source.

What is BK Questionnaire?

BK Questionnaire is bankruptcy client intake software for Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases, made by BK Assistant, Inc. The client answers an interactive questionnaire on the web or in the BK Questionnaire app for iPhone and Android, uploads documents into a client portal, and the firm reviews what comes back. The apps scan documents, read driver’s license barcodes and vehicle VINs, and carry step-by-step tutorial videos in English and Spanish.

Around the questionnaire sit paid assistants. The Payroll Assistant reads six months of uploaded pay stubs and fills Schedule I and means-test income. There are bank statement and profit and loss assistants, auto-imported credit reports at $15.99 per debtor, a concierge service in which the vendor reviews the documents and questionnaire with your client, and on the pricing page a petition preparation system that populates Chapter 7 petition forms from the questionnaire. The firm can white-label the portal and apps under its own name.

How much does BK Questionnaire cost?

The BK Questionnaire pricing page lists three plans. Standard is $39.99, Premium is $89.99 and Ultimate is $129.99 for an individual debtor or $159.00 for a joint debtor case, which reads as per-case pricing. Most assistants are add-ons that vary by plan.

From the vendor’s published pricing page, checked October 2026. The page asks firms to book a demo before choosing a plan, so confirm the billing unit and any minimums in writing.

Against the labor it replaces, any of these is cheap. Outsourced Chapter 7 preparation clears at roughly $300 to $400 a case on published vendor pages, and the full cost comparison is in what outsourcing petition prep really costs. The useful question is not the price but whether your clients will complete the questionnaire at all.

Which petition software does BK Questionnaire work with?

BK Questionnaire exports the questionnaire as CSV, which its site says imports into most major petition preparation systems, and it shows Jubilee by LegalPRO Systems as a partner with free case import. Its own petition preparation system is the other route. Best Case appears on the site only in a customer testimonial, from a firm that keeps its Best Case license because BK Questionnaire does not yet file. We found no named Best Case importer and no mention of NextChapter.

Who is BK Questionnaire a good fit for?

  • Firms whose clients reliably finish an online form. The phone apps, tutorial videos and push notifications are built to get a debtor through the questionnaire without a staff call.
  • Firms that want pay-stub arithmetic done for them. The Payroll Assistant’s six-month reading of pay stubs into the means-test period is a real time saver that the other questionnaire products do not publish.
  • Firms on Jubilee, where the import is a named partnership rather than a CSV.
  • Firms with Spanish-speaking clients who will type. The questionnaire, tutorials and attorney chat are offered in English and Spanish.

When is a different tool the better choice?

Every client-completed questionnaire depends on the client finishing it. Practitioners describe portal completion as the recurring failure point with consumer debtors, and the firm’s fallback is the paper packet it has always printed. A questionnaire product does nothing with that packet. It also does nothing with what the client tells the attorney in the consultation, which is often where the missing creditor or the second car comes out.

That is the gap Casewell fills, and it is a narrow one. Staff upload the completed packet, handwritten or typed, or start from interview notes or a recording of the meeting. Casewell reads the packet several times independently, compares the reads field by field, and puts any field the reads disagreed on in front of staff beside the source before anything is exported. Confirmed values become a Best Case .BCB client file that is read back and checked before the firm downloads it. The method is explained in OCR for handwritten intake forms and getting client data into Best Case.

They can coexist. Nothing stops a firm sending the clients who will type to an online questionnaire and running the clients who hand back paper through Casewell. The choice that matters is which petition software the data has to reach, and for a Best Case firm Casewell writes the file Best Case imports.

Casewell’s scope, stated plainly. It is built and verified on Chapter 7 cases; on a Chapter 13 case the plan and means test are still entered in Best Case by hand. It writes Best Case files only, so it is not the answer for a firm filing in Jubilee or NextChapter. It does not file, does not collect documents from the client and is not a client portal. It is free during the current beta, up to 10 intake packets a day per firm.

Does BK Questionnaire import into Best Case?

Who makes BK Questionnaire?

BK Assistant, Inc., based in Costa Mesa, California. The product is sold as BK Questionnaire, with apps on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Is BK Questionnaire available in Spanish?

Yes. The vendor lists the questionnaire, tutorial videos and attorney-to-client chat in English and Spanish. For Spanish-language paper packets and Spanish-language consultations going into Best Case, see bankruptcy intake in Spanish.

What is the difference between BK Questionnaire and Casewell?

BK Questionnaire asks the client to type answers into a portal or app. Casewell starts from what the firm already has, a completed paper or PDF packet, interview notes or a recorded meeting, and turns it into a Best Case .BCB file after staff confirm any field the reads disagreed on.

Can a firm use both?

Yes. Clients who complete online questionnaires can stay on one, and packets that come back on paper can go through Casewell. They do not conflict, because they start from different inputs.
